Traditional roulette has been improved with an extra ball in Double Ball roulette. What sets this variant apart is higher payouts, more bets, and extra ways to win.
So, if you want to know more about double ball roulette, read our comprehensive guide below. Then sign up for one of the premium casinos we’ve also listed.
Essentially, double ball roulette is the same as regular games, with just another ball in play. It can be played on a single or double zero wheel, which really ups the ante.
For the most part, the table layout will be the same, with an extra wager or two related to this roulette game. Both balls must land on the roulette wheel before your bets are paid out.
Basic Game Rules
Like other versions, double ball roulette uses standard roulette wheels, though some new split bets are featured. These are single bets on both balls landing on a specific or any number on the wheel. But this is extremely rare, so bet carefully and expect some losses.
Besides those rules, you can expect the usual table limits and rules. You can bet on a single number, multiple winning numbers, outside bets, and so on.
For virtual or live online games, you’ll place your wagers on the partitions they relate to. On live tables, compressed air will push the balls onto the wheel after a button is pushed. And in virtual table games, this is controlled by the random number generator (RNG).
For your bet to win, you need both balls to land on that outcome; e.g., bets on red need both to land on red. And to win the jackpot, you also need both balls to land on the specific number.
How to Play Double Ball Roulette
When you open up a game, you’ll choose your table limits and then get directed to the table.
Here, you’ll place your wagers where you want them and wait for the wheel to spin and the balls to land.
The balls are then released into the wheel and will spin for a few seconds until the wheel slows down.
Then, the balls will land in one or two of the pockets (probably one each), and your bets will be paid out.
Bets, Payouts & Odds
Since your chance of winning is twice as high in double ball roulette, the payouts are smaller. This is purely to keep the casino in business, so don’t take it personally.
Here are the expected returns for each type of bet on the table, based on averages from multiple games:
